At HostAfrica Nigeria, our focus is on giving you a hosting environment that’s safe, fast, and dependable. As part of that promise, we’re sharing our September 2025 PHP version support update. This update explains which PHP versions we currently support, the risks of using outdated ones, and why it’s best to move your website to the latest release.
Why PHP Updates Are Important
PHP is the scripting language behind many popular websites and applications such as WordPress, Joomla, and Laravel. Like other technologies, it receives regular updates to improve:
- Security – Protecting your website from known vulnerabilities.
- Performance – Making your site load faster and run more efficiently.
- Compatibility – Ensuring modern plugins, themes, and frameworks function correctly.
Once a PHP version reaches its “end-of-life” (EOL), it no longer gets updates from the PHP developers, which leaves websites exposed.
